Fire Extinguisher Inspections

Your fire extinguisher(s) should be inspected at least once a month by a representative of your business or one of our technicians can perform this service if requested. Performing the monthly inspections does not require special training or a permit - anyone can perform the monthly inspections for your business. Generally, the representative from your company is verifying that the fire extinguisher is in place and hasn’t been tampered with. This means that, upon inspection, the extinguisher should be on or in its correct location mounted on a wall bracket or in a cabinet, have the tamper seal intact, showing a fully charged.  Performing this inspection at least once a month familiarizes you and your employees with the fire safety equipment. Any use of an extinguisher requires immediate attention by a certified fire extinguisher technician.

Fire Alarms

Maintaining reliability throughout the entire life cycle of a fire alarm system involves three distinct and equally important tasks which must be performed on a periodic basis: (1.) visual inspections, (2.) functional testing and (3.) maintenance activities. ATLAS Fire Protection can gladly perform all of these task through our partnership company. Many overlook the need to visually inspect the fire system and concentrate only on the functional testing of the components. However, each of these tasks are necessary and contribute to the assurance of a fire system that is ready to perform in the case of a fire.

Valve Testing

Valve “type testing” is a new protocol where valves are tested at the operating pressure and temperature ranges specified by the manufacturer. ... In addition to the temperature and pressure testing extremes, the valves are also often required to be tested for fugitive emissions leakage during the test program. ATLAS Fire Protection also can ensure quality work in this field as well.
